A new psychodelic Kawaii themed sushi restaurant has entered the chat! NYC’s Sushidelic is the newest, most colorful sushi restaurant I’ve seen thus far. Let’s jump right into all the reasons you need to give this place a visit….

If nothing else catches your eye, the aesthetic and decor certainly will. Walking through the door, I was instantly reminded of the Lisa Frank stationary I used to have in middle school (remember?). It’s so bright, cozy and fun! We were in instant awe of the oversize kitty heads hanging from the ceiling, the rotating conveyer belt at the bar, and the most adorable host you’d ever see, Crystalmoonwitch.

Hospitality: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

10/10! The Hostesses and bar staff were friendly and accommodating, and our Waitress didn’t miss a beat. She made sure our needs were met in a timely manner, and checked on us frequently without being too smothering. From the time we arrived until the time we left, every staff member we encountered added to our memorable experience.

Family friendly: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Bring the kids! We were originally supposed to take our girls, but last minute changes prevented that from happening. Anywho, I’m quite sure children of any age would love to experience eating here, and appreciate all of it’s Instagram-able worthiness.

Food:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

AMAAAAZING!! I may be a bit bias in saying this because I’m a diehard sushi fanatic, but everything on the menu was fresh and pleasant to eat.

There’s a set pre fix menu that consists of 6 small courses:

1st Course: Macaroon Sushi- Macaroon, Tuna, Cream Cheese, Tobiko

2nd Course: Sashimi salad – Daily Special Sashimi Salad

3rd Course: Ape Maki – Appetizer Roll: 4 kinds of recommended rolls. California roll w/crab cake, Salmon with Salmon Roe, Eel Tamago Roll with Avocado Wasabi Sauce, Spicy Tuna over crispy rice.

4th Course: Kakiage Tempura – Seasoned vegetable w/Matcha and Yuzu Salt

5th Course: Chirashi Parfait or Special Ape Maki (choose one or the other) – Chirashi Parfait: Mixed Sashimi w/rice over marinated vegetables. Special Ape Maki: 3 kinds of special recommended rolls – Wagyu Roll, Medium Fatty Toro & Spicy Scallop.

6th Course: Dessert – Daily Special Dessert. Our dessert consisted of Green tea ice cream w/whipped cream and strawberries, a rice crispy treat with a lemon topping & Cheese Cake.

For drinks we had the Sugar Plum Spritz and the Lychee Berry Smash.

Lychee Berry Smash *this is not the general look of this particular drink. I asked for the bubble to be placed on top, which is typically served with the Matcha Tea-tni

Presentation: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Do I even need to elaborate? I mean, do you see those dishes?! ☝🏾 I wouldn’t have plated them any other way. And besides that, the atmosphere made the presentation even better.

Taste:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

There wasn’t anything I didn’t like, and I don’t say that too often. Everything was fresh and pleasant to taste. I especially enjoyed the variety of sauces used to accompany each plate. It gave everything a nice ‘kick’. One thing though, if you’re not a true fan of sushi, this may not be the place for you. Every dish has raw fish.

Price: $$

The venue offers a Pre fix menu, just under $100 for a 6 course meal. Considering the exclusivity and originality of the dishes –and the fact that sushi is generally expensive anyway– I think the price is pretty fair. However, drinks are not included. We paid just over $220, not including tip.

General Info:

• There is music. No live Dj or band. Just a soft melody to enjoy your dinner to.

• Reservations are highly recommended, especially since the seating is limited. You can reserve your seat here.

• Parking is what’s to be expected for NYC. But surprisingly enough, I was able to find a spot right outside the door. But of course, there’s also a nearby garage to stop in.

• Dress code is casual. But the cuter, the better 😉.

• The venue is only only for dinner, 5p – 11:00p (last seating 10:00p) Tuesday thru Saturday.

The Takeaway: Cute place, Good Food … Get there!

Have you been here? Would you try it?
