Island Waterpark Atlantic City 2023

There’s a new water park in town! And it’s in the Showboat Hotel in Atlantic City. We decided to surprise our baby girl, Kenzie, with a quick trip here to celebrate her 6th birthday; and we had such a great time. I specifically chose this park as opposed to other, perhaps larger ones, because this one was brand new (I LOVE trying out new venues), and I wanted to see if it really lived up to all the hype. Well did it? In short, I think I expected a bit more, but let me explain…

Island Water Park advertises as the largest beach front indoor water park, and it probably is – especially since I don’t know of any other indoor beach front water parks to compare it to. But it wasn’t at all as spacious as I imagined it would be. I remember first walking in and being surprised by the size of it. After seeing all the cool reviews and things on social media, I guess my expectations were a little higher than warranted. But still, we had a blast!

Our teens enjoyed lounging around, for the most part utilizing the lazy river, while Kenzie and her dad enjoyed the pool and the slides. Kenzie made us ride each slide at least 7 times 🤣, that’s how much fun she was having.

Pricing and Parking

We paid about $250 for our family of 5. We went on a Friday when the ticket prices were a little cheaper. You can check out admission and add on prices, including the Adult only swim up bar section (Yes, there’s adult only swim up bar section 😉). We chose not to buy into this section because we wanted to spend our time there with the girls, but I do think that it’ll make for a great friends night with the girls or guys.

Food

Like many amusement parks and family fun venues, the food was a bit overpriced and mundane. Plus, we really didn’t have a taste for anything on the menus, so we chose to dine elsewhere, instead.

The Takeaway

• The venue was fun! But it’s not the largest water park you’d visit. If you’re from out of town, I wouldn’t travel hours to get there, despite the great time we had. This is moreso due to the fact that there are closer, very similar, venues to where we live.

• Great for a quick all adult day out. Besides having your own kid free space, the drinks didn’t look half bad, from what I could see. I didn’t get my own, so unfortunately I don’t have any pictures of them.

Adult Paradise Island

• All in all, a fun venue that mostly any kid would love. Not big, but enough to enjoy your day and satisfy you craving for some water-fun. If you’ll be staying in AC or live close to it, visiting is a no brainer, otherwise, there are more feasible places to try.

• There are roughly 10 or so attractions, not including the arcade, but I see that there are new attractions being added soon that you might love!

General Tips & Information

• Going during the week & earlier in the day limits the crowd. You’d also spend less on your ticket, as well as getting discounted “Twilight” admission prices after 4pm.

• Since the park is located inside of Showboat Hotel, you’ll park in their designated parking garage and expect to pay the average fees. I think we paid about $7.

• There are lockers available to put your belongings, available in various sizes. I can’t remember the exact price (sorry 🫣) but I’m thinking the cost of a large locker was somewhere around $14.

Have you been to Island Waterpark? What was your take? Would you go back?
