You’ve probably heard of Minus 5° Ice Bars in Las Vegas, or Chill Out Ice Lounge in Dubai, both of which offer really cool ice experiences. But those are indoors. Have you been to one on a rooftop?

Harriet’s Rooftop Polar Lounge, in Brooklyn, is an unique experience featuring glacial landscaping – including custom furniture, sculptures and even cocktail mugs, completely made of ice! You’ll also get top notch views of the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan Skyline – who doesn’t love to see that?!

There are two admission choices: General and VIP. With General admission, you only have access to the standing area and are required to spend at least $25 -This admission includes one free cocktail. With VIP admission, you have access to exclusive seating areas, are given a free cocktail (or champagne) and appetizer, and the spend requirement is $200 or $50 per person (257.00 after taxes and gratuity to be exact, Maximum 4 people ). * Since it was only two of us, we received 2 cocktails and 2 appetizers each*. Payment is required upon arrival.

Venue

Hospitality: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Doormen, Elevator Assistant’s and personal Waiters for VIP tables. I’d say their hospitality was above what I expected.

Environment:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Anywhere with a clear view of the NYC Skyline and Brooklyn Bridge, is a 4 star rating in my book! And besides the view, we experienced a pretty layed-back crowd, great conversation and of course, the aesthetics of ice all around us.

Family friendly: ⭐️⭐️

Unless you have a family full of adults, this isn’t the place for your family outing. 21+ only!

Food

Taste: ⭐️⭐️

No actual food is served at this particular event; only the complimentary appetizer you get with reserving a table. Otherwise, you just have the option of purchasing drinks from the bar.

Presentation: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Cute enough. The fact that our cups were made completely of ice was enough to win me over 🤷🏽‍♀️.

Margarita Cocktails

Price: $$$

Speaking to only the VIP tables, I think it was a bit pricey. Nearly $300 for two drinks and really small appetizers (if you could even call it that). Basically, you’re paying for the actual ‘all ice’ experience. Was it worth it? Ehhh, maybe not. But if you’re going to go, it wouldn’t make sense not to purchase it. Otherwise, you’d just be standing in front of the bar viewing the skyline. And you can pretty much go to any rooftop for that.

Champagne 🥂

Side notes:

• If you purchase a table, wear a long coat! The seats are covered with a fur-like rug and pillows, but it’s wet, so your pants will be too…

• In the event of extremely cold weather, you’re able to request a coat. But I wasn’t exactly thrilled at the thought of sharing a coat with strangers, so I made sure I was warm enough on my own. And luckily for us, it was a 60° night, so we were just fine.

• Make sure you have your own gloves handy. They don’t offer them here. And you surely don’t want to get stuck holding ice without them.

• There’s a parking garage right underneath the hotel, or you can try your luck and park a little further down the block, like we did, for free 🙃.

• THE POLAR LOUNGE IS ONLY AROUND UNTIL 2/28! Make your VIP or general admission reservation now!
