If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll see that I recently took a (very) quick 2-day getaway, with bae, to Las Vegas. Here’s everything we did with our time in the infamous Sin City, along with some other ideas for you. So if you’re on a time constraint, don’t worry about not being able to have fun, I got you covered!

DAY ONE:

7 Magic Mountains

Our first stop! Essentially, 7 Magic Mountains is just a pile of rocks in the middle of nowhere, but it makes for some really dope pictures. It’s one of the reasons I wanted to go to Vegas in the first place.

But more specifically, it’s an art display of colorfully painted boulders that stand up to between 25 and 35ft high. The exhibition opened in May of 2016, and was originally scheduled to be taken down in 2018. But due to its gained popularity and notable success, it was granted an extension until the end of 2021. Better go see it before it’s gone! It’s only a 30 minute drive from the strip. Oh and let’s not forget, IT’S FREE!

Location: S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89054

*Quick tip* rent a car. You’ll be able to explore more on your own with one. We rented from hertz for both days for under $100.

SlotZilla Ziplining

Now this was fun! SlotZilla is one of two ziplining activities you can do between the downtown and main strips (the other is FlyLinq). I chose to go with SlotZilla because of the scenery, even though it was more expensive, but they give the same experience. For 2 tickets, and an added $25 per person for the GoPro and picture package, we paid a total of $156.00. I strongly suggest that you buy, at the very least, the pictures. Because how else are you going to remember this experience? For me, purchasing the footage was a no-brainer (I was way too scared to pull my phone out and attempt to get my own video. Knowing me, that wouldn’t have ended well).

We did the Super Hero Zoom ($49 per person), which is 11 stories high and 5 blocks long. You also have the option to fly seated ($29 per person) which is only 7 stories high and 2 blocks long. The speed is about 40mph (but also depends on your weight. The heavier you are, the faster you’ll go).

DAY 2:

Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens

The Bellagio hotel houses a beautiful Botanical Garden that’s updated seasonally. This fall, the theme was “Into the Woods”. I won’t bore you with all the specifics and background info, but you can read more about this exhibit here.

The garden felt magical. Like a scene straight out of a children’s storybook. If I ever went back, I would love to see how this transforms throughout the year. And nope, you don’t have to pay to see this either!

The Bellagio also displays a really pretty water show from 3pm-midnight, Monday through Friday. It shows every 30 minutes until 8pm, and every 15mins thereafter.

Highrollers

Ferris Wheel, but make it MASSIVE! According to their site, Highrollers is the world’s tallest observation wheel, taking you 550ft high! At the top, you get a stunning 360° view of the entire strip, and beyond! Typically, you would share a ride with other passengers, but we lucked up got a cabin completely to ourselves 😏 (the cabins are pretty big, and can hold up to 40 people in each one). The ride takes about 30mins to complete, and costs $35 for an ‘any-time’ adult ticket (it’s a little cheaper if bought online). Oh, and let me not forget about the bar inside 🍹. We drank, relaxed and enjoyed the soft music and views.

Nightlife

What’s visiting Las Vegas without enjoying a little night life? So of course we spent some time outside. We caught Michael Jackson and Elvis impersonators, some show girls, and quite a few other local talents dancing and playing instruments. And due to Covid, it wasn’t nearly as crowded outside as it would be usually. I was happy about that because the thought of walking through a crowd of thousands of people just makes me nervous at this point.

Things I would’ve done if I’d stayed longer:

• Visited Area 15

• Watched a show (probably a magic show)

• Visited the Neon Museum

• Crossed the state line to explore a little of California

• Did some aerial shooting with gunshiphelicopters (because I love guns and helicopters 🤟🏾🤟🏾… fellas, this one is especially for you!)

• Did a Sunbuggy tour with Sunbuggy Rentals.

•Also, we didn’t eat anywhere special. I did have plans to get a giant Mimosa from Mimosas Gourmet, but the wait was too long, and I was HUNGRY! Being that we didn’t eat here, I obviously can’t review any of the food, but I can tell you that the restaurant is in the residential part of town, about a 20 minute drive away from the hotels. Here, you’ll be eating mostly with locals. It’s a small venue that sits in a shopping strip with a cluster of other stores; there’s nothing fancy about the appearance.

*Here are other tour and activity ideas you can check out*

Would I go back? Short answer, no. Not because I didn’t enjoy myself, but because Vegas doesn’t really offer anything I can’t get at home. My partying days are long gone, and the whole late night scene just isn’t for me anymore. I feel like if I ever wanted the ‘Vegas Feel’ again, I could go to Atlantic City or NYC. Unless of course, I discover something spectacular that could only be experienced there. The exclusive activities they do have, just doesn’t warrant a second trip for me.
