I’ve always dreamt of doing hard prison time with my BFF. You know, sharing the same cell, trading commissary and flirting with the Officers…… Ok, ok this has never actually been on my bucket list of life accomplishments, but I’m sure glad I got to experience it here at this Speakeasy! We were sentenced to 90mins for being so fine 😉.
ShawshankD is an immersive and theatrical cocktail experience . You’ll be tasked with finding an escape route with your follow inmates, all while enjoying some singing and a couple of really great drinks. But you better behave, the Warden’s been waiting to throw you in the Hole!
When you arrive, the Prison’s Security Guard will come “arrest” you from Bar on the lower level (but don’t worry, there are no handcuffs involved). You’ll then be escorted to your new home, a 1940’s prison cellblock. HOW EXCITING!
You’ll be housed either with your own group, or with others, depending on the size of your crew. Since it was just the two of us, we shared a cell with two others.
We paid $60 each for admission . Was it worth it? Ehhh, as much as I would like to say that something closer to $40 would have been more doable, I’m sure the unlikeliness of finding a similar event played a lot into the price. Especially considering the fact that there are Actors who need to be paid – so yea, I guess I can understand that. This speakeasy was a lot different from the previous one we’ve visited.
