For her graduation gift, I wanted to spend some quality time with her away from home. Somewhere we could have a cute girls’ weekend, talk for hours, laugh until we cried, and make memories together before her college adventure begins.
I chose West Palm Beach for the ultimate pink weekend. 💖 Sometimes, you don’t need a passport to feel like you’ve escaped to paradise.

After months of working hard, juggling responsibilities, and counting down the days, my daughter and I packed our bags and headed to Florida. Our mission? Relax, reconnect, make memories, and soak in every beautiful moment.
Spoiler alert: We did exactly that.

Day 1: Checking Into Palm House
The moment we arrived at Palm House, vacation mode officially kicked in. From the second we were handed our room keys and stepped into a lobby filled with soft pinks, tropical details, and that unmistakable luxury hotel scent, we knew we were exactly where we were supposed to be.
Everything about the hotel felt luxurious yet relaxing, the perfect place to start our girls’ trip. After checking in, we spent the afternoon enjoying lunch, soaking up the sun by the pool, and easing into vacation before dinner.
That evening, we decided to walk about a mile to Echo for dinner. Yup… a drive that would’ve taken five minutes ended up taking us about thirty. 😂 But honestly, there was something so special about not having to rush.
It was actually Jo’s idea to walk, and I’m so glad we did. I loved taking in the scenery, admiring the beautiful homes and palm trees, and just chatting the whole way there. This reminded me that sometimes the best part of vacation isn’t the attraction you’ve planned, it’s the conversations you have while getting there.

Day 2: Welcome to The Colony 💕🚲
If there was ever a hotel designed for my aesthetic-loving heart, it would be The Colony. From the iconic pink details to the Palm Beach charm, every corner felt photo-worthy. And I have to admit…the handsome staff didn’t exactly hurt the experience either. 🤭
After checking in, we freshened up and ate brunch, before grabbing the famous bikes and exploring the area at our own pace. Riding through the beautiful streets lined with palm trees and pastel architecture felt like something straight out of a movie. Afterwards, we headed to the beach, then went back to the hotel for some relaxing pool time and cocktails.
That evening, we had dinner at Swifty’s. We spent the night soaking in the vibrant atmosphere, enjoying the live music and making memories over great food and plenty of laughs. Apparently there’s so much about my daughter I didn’t realize. She’s really growing up 🥲.

Good to Know
Rooms are on the smaller side than Palm House. Because it’s in the heart of Palm Beach, it feels busier and more energetic. Dogs are allowed in the hotel and around the pool and dining areas. There’s a $299 deposit hold.
Day 3: Brunch & A Pink Jet Car Adventure
Our morning started off with a ride in the famous Pink Jet Car in Pompano Beach. What a thrill! It was such a unique experience and definitely one of the highlights of our trip. I’ve seen better looking jet cars in other places, but the experience is just the same.
The attraction is about 40 minutes from our hotel, so we grabbed an Uber and made the drive over. After our ride, we decided to stick around for brunch at Lola’s, a cute little restaurant tucked inside the hotel next to the marina. I especially liked eating here because of the view 🌊.
Between the adrenaline from the jet car, the waterfront views, and a delicious brunch, I honestly can’t think of a better way we could have started our day. It was the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation before heading back to Palm Beach to enjoy the rest of our afternoon.
Not before a long afternoon nap, (because we were tired!) we did a little sightseeing down Worth Avenue. We stopped by the iconic ‘Worth Avenue Clock’, and took in the charm of one of Palm Beach’s most famous streets. Lined with designer boutiques, beautiful architecture, and upscale restaurants, Worth Avenue is just as much an experience as it is a shopping destination. Even if you’re only window shopping like we were, every block offers something beautiful to discover.
The strip somehow felt both elegant and relaxed. One minute you’re admiring million-dollar storefronts, and the next you’re ducking into charming little courtyards that feel completely hidden from the crowds. Even if shopping isn’t your thing, it’s worth wandering just to soak up the atmosphere.
To wrap up our last night, we celebrated with dinner at Pink Steak, and it was the perfect ending to our trip. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was everything I hoped it would be. The restaurant strikes the perfect balance between upscale and fun, with a stunning giraffe statue as the centerpiece, beautiful outdoor seating, and dim lighting that creates a cozy yet lively atmosphere.
The food was delicious, but the real star of the evening was the spicy passion fruit cocktail. It was easily one of my favorite drinks from the entire trip. The service was friendly, attentive, and surprisingly fast, making the whole experience feel effortless. On select nights, Pink Steak also hosts live music and DJ events, which I can only imagine takes dining here to another level. If I lived in Palm Beach, this would absolutely become one of my go-to spots for brunch or a special night out.
On our way back to the hotel that night, I couldn’t help but feel incredibly grateful. This mother-daughter weekend is one we’ll both remember for years to come. And for sure, will do again 💖.

✨ Things I’d Do Differently Next Time
I’d stay at least four nights instead of three. We never felt rushed, but another day would have given us more time to relax instead of trying to squeeze everything into one weekend. I’m not your typical fan of the beach, but I would have liked to spend a day on the sand just eating and relaxing. I would have also liked to maybe adventure off to another city and experience more dining and hotel options. And lastly, I’d make sure to plan accordingly for meals, because the dining does get quite expensive.
💖 What This Trip Really Gave Me
Life moves so quickly. One minute you’re packing school lunches and helping with homework, and the next you’re celebrating a high school graduation and preparing to send your first baby off to college. This weekend gave us something that’s hard to find in the middle of everyday life; uninterrupted time together.
Of course, West Palm Beach was absolutely beautiful, but the destination was only part of what made this trip so special. The real highlight was simply being together with my baby girl before officially beginning her own path.
