A small part of my beauty and self-care routine, is to spend time at the spa; I absolutely love being pampered. SOJO Spa Club is, hands down, my favorite place to spend the day when I need some relaxing alone time (it works as a great date night as well).
OK, so let’s talk about SOJO and all it has to offer (My full review).
When you arrive:
The minute you arrive at SOJO, you’ll be greeted by Valet Parkers. They’ll take your car (if you choose to use the service), then you’ll pay inside when checking in; $7. You can also choose to book an appointment for any of their treatment sessions, or simply walk in and enjoy their other services. After registering, you go to a security desk to have your items checked, then you’ll be directed to place your shoes in a locker before you are allowed to tour the facility – That’s right, you cannot wear shoes! Only socks or bare feet are acceptable unless in the outside areas- and they’re very strict about it! (But don’t worry, the facility is amazingly clean and the floors are heated). Ok, so at this first locker, you’ll be given a wristband that corresponds to both this locker, and the lockers inside the changing room (your number is printed on the wristband). Inside the locker rooms, you’ll get a towel and robe to use for your stay. *Male and female changing rooms are of course separate, but all other areas of the facility cater to both genders*
The Facility:
Sojo boasts of about 7 outdoor pools, 5 Saunas, 3 Therapy Rooms, a fitness Center, dining area, Yoga classes and even Hotel Sojo! Now, I didn’t utilize all these amenities, so I wouldn’t be able to give you an honest review on everything, but here are the services I did enjoy…
The Foot Massage Path
If anyone gets excited about anything related to a foot massage, it’s me. When I saw the massage path, I immediately walked right into it…. and then, right out. The shallow water path is lined with both smooth and round stones that are meant to simulate a reflexology massage and improve balance. Now, I don’t know if you’re supposed to have tough skin on your feet in order to enjoy walking down this path, but it HURT! I mean, I probably took a good 10 steps before I turned around to get out. I tried staying on the smoother stones but it didn’t improve the experience for me any. There were a few couples on the path at the same time I attempted my walk through it, and they seemed to be enjoying it! So maybe my feet are just weird (**shrugs shoulders**).
Hydrotherapy Pool
I absolutely LOVED the Hydrotherapy Pool. It was well heated and the view of NY you see, is beautiful. And because I was there at night, I got to really experience the way the lights illuminated the water in pretty hues of pink, green and blue. Not to mention the back and leg massage jets built into it. It was almost like this pool had hands – ahhh take me back.
The Silk Bath
The Silk Bath! WHEW!! I Could have literally stayed in here the entire time. This 2.5ft bath infuses hot spring micro bubbles directly into the water to improve your skin’s elasticity and nourish the body’s tissue. The water in this bath is over 100 degrees, and let me tell you, it felt like heaven on a 30-degree winter’s night! I sat there, I took a few pics for Instagram (because what’s an experience without showing it off on Instagram?), and then, I think I fell asleep; seriously, this bath was that relaxing.
The Cold Waterfall
Just as the title suggests, the Waterfall is COLD, But it’s equally Beautiful! Sitting right next to the silk bath, and at the end of a cool shallow walkway, the Waterfall was surrounded by trees donned with white Christmas lights. It really set the atmosphere off and made it even more soothing – also, a perfect spot for some ‘Instagram-able’ flicks. There were a few lounge chairs around a fire pit that I enjoyed sitting next to, too. I almost forgot it was cold outside, that’s how cozy it was; it felt comparable to being on vacation.

Treatments
After enjoying the pools, I got the chance to experience a Spa Treatment. If you book a treatment, you’ll have a Masseuse waiting for you in a lounge area at the time of your appointment. In the lounge area, there are a number of super comfortable lounge chairs and a refreshment table where you can choose a cool drink of cucumber or lemon water. I loved how tranquil I felt as a waited for my Masseuse to call for me. As a relaxed under the dim lighting of the lounge, I imagined how much better the massage would feel.
Right before my appointment time, Sarah walks in and calls my name. I remember her name because, who could forget someone with hands so heavenly! – NO, really, I don’t know who, how or what taught this woman how to massage the way she does, but I’d choose to have her every time if I could….
Ok, so once you’re taken out of the lounge room, your Masseuse will lead you to your room. You’ll then confirm the type of massage you want (I had the 60 minute heated salt stone massage), then you’ll choose from 2 scented oils to be used; a light lemon scent, or an aromatherapy scent – I chose the latter. The massage tables are heated (OMG they are so comfortable!), and this is a plus since you’ll be laying there in the buff. *Ladies, I wouldn’t go for a massage if on your period. For me, it would just be too uncomfortable. Although You can choose to leave your undergarments on, white sheets and periods just make me feel cringy*.
The hour went by way too fast. With Sarah’s hands, the calming scents and soothing music, it’s like I visited heaven, and I did NOT want to come back! Sarah exited the room, allowing me to put my robe back on. She met me outside the door with another tasty glass of cucumber water (that was my 4th cup LOL). And then, that was it. My lovely day at SOJO ended just like that *sad face*.
So, Would I recommend SOJO to you?
Heck YES!!!! I really wish I’d had the time to cover everything there. I especially wanted to sit in one of the Sauna’s, but the night really got away from me. My advice to you will be to plan your visit accordingly. I kind of waited until the last minute to go, giving myself only 2 hours before my massage appointment to peek around the facility. But really guys, it’s a beautiful place to spend a relaxing day. It’s exceptionally clean, the staff is great and again, the services are top of the line. This is a MUST visit!!
As a sidenote: I was given a gift certificate for a 60 min massage (you get to choose from three different massages – heated salt stone, deep muscle or Aromatherapy). With the gift certificate I did not have to pay for valet parking, nor do you have to pay any extra to use any of their indoor or outdoor facilities, it’s all included!! What a gift right?! General admission ($55 weekdays/$75 weekends) includes all indoor and outdoor services. Food and treatments are a separate cost (WARNING: Treatments are not cheap! The average 60min treatment is upward of $150 – no outside food or beverages are allowed). Feel free to visit the SOJO website for more information.
I am in No way being compensated to give my opinion about my experience at SOJO Spa Club. It’s just something I loved and wanted to share!
So guys, have you been to SOJO? What was your experience like? Would you want to go? Let’s talk! Happy Pampering!
XO,
Lexi
