Happy New Year! 🎊 . This is the first new place we’ve visited for the year, so far. We got a late start, as we’re already a month in, but here we go!
I originally saw a similar cotton candy pop up in NYC about a year ago, and was so excited to see that a shop had made its way to NJ!
Puffy Cotton Candy is located in Freehold Raceway Mall on the 2nd level between Yankee Candle and Real Fruit Bubble Tea.
Pricing
You can purchase the average ‘cloud’ of cotton for $9 (small) or $12 (large), and the characters cost anywhere between $18 and $28. You can also get cotton candy cakes, $20-$47. And if you look at their Instagram page, you’ll find that they can make a multitude of other characters and products! I’m not too sure of the pricing for customized orders, but it wouldn’t hurt to ask!
We chose the Rabbit, Panda. Alien, Unicorn & Emoji Heart Face. How cute!
Wait Time
We waited EXACTLY 3 hours from beginning to end; 2 hours in line & another hour inside the shop 😣😣😣. Painful, I know. But, I’d like to think that this mostly attributed to the fact that it was only day 2 since it’s grand opening. Unless this franchise remains insanely popular, I don’t foresee the wait times remaining this extensive.
Taste
What does it taste like you ask? Well, like cotton candy. However, there’s no nasty after taste like what you might experience with a lot of other flavored cotton candy brands. These flavors were actually pretty good.
Good To Know
The cotton candy doesn’t last too long as a sculpture, so my advice… take pictures quick! Because soon after you have them in the Plastic bag, they’ll start to fall apart (or at least ours did). Just look at the difference between 1 minute, 1 hour & 1 day after it’s made 👇🏾.
Outside of the painful wait time, we had a lot of fun here! Watching them handcraft all of the characters was a really fun & unique experience for us all.
