You read that right! NYC & DC aren’t the only places with amazing Hideout bars (some of which I’ll be visiting soon 😉). NJ has a few pretty cool spots of their own that are definitely worth checking out.
Morristown’s, The Laundromat bar , is a basement Speakeasy that hides behind the facade of an actual Laundromat, how cool is that?! And no, you can’t wash your clothes here, but you can dance the night away to live entertainment and house crafted cocktails. Maybe we should start a petition to have these in the basements of all laundromats? Idk, but it sounds like a pretty good idea to me!
So, what exactly was this place like? Well, let’s see….
Venue
Hospitality: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
We didn’t have to interact too much with anyone, but my girl Stacia and I did appreciate the way one of the Bartenders accommodated our request to create a drink that catered more to our liking.
I also have to acknowledge the Bouncer and his patience with me and all of my photo / video attempts 😂. He was so nice and had no problem excusing himself so that he wasn’t in my content. Thanks Mr. Bouncer!
Environment: ⭐️⭐️
Great for a group hang out, but not much for a date. Not a huge venue but a nice enough size. The live music is a plus. Open until 2am!
Family friendly: 🚫
This is an ADULT ONLY VENUE! Only 23+ allowed. Sorry kiddos, But this one is for the mature crowd only.
Food
Taste: ⭐️⭐️
No food is served here, drinks only! I think I’d give our drinks an overall 7/10. Unfortunately though, we didn’t order a menu item, so I can’t recommend anything off of it to you, sorry! Our drinks were created by the Bartender.
Presentation: ⭐️
Nothing special here. Everything is served in a regular glass, and the most you’re going to get is a piece of mint or fruit as garnishment. No razzle dazzle. Just a drink…..In a glass…..That’s it.
Price: $
We only purchased one beverage at $12 a piece. Not expensive at all if you ask me.
The Takeaway…… Fine for a quick cocktail or meet-up with friends, but not enough to make me a frequent patron. My main reason being, I need food! I think if they offered even a few small plate options my experience would have been a little different. Also, definitely go as a group, it would be a lot more fun that way!
