Urban Air, Avenel NJ

Like any other weekend, I’m typically boggling my brain trying to think of some activity to do with the girls. This time, my best friend Stacia made it easy on me by suggesting we spend the day with her at Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park, in Avenel, NJ. Not only was it fun for all of us, it’s a great place to keep yourself and the kids active. I think I might’ve lost a couple pounds having to run after Kenzie (my two year old) for almost 3 hours straight 😩. I didn’t plan on swimming through a pool of balls, climbing through obstacle courses or jogging throughout the facility. But hey, I’ll use that an excuse to skip an exercise session this week 😉 (Thanks Kenzie).

When we arrived, we first had to first sign our waivers, via kiosk (this could also be done online before your arrival), then pay for our passes and purchase socks. Unless you already have a pair of their safety socks, they’re mandatory to purchase. Also keep in mind that all safety socks have to be their brand. If you have another brand of socks from a different trampoline park, they allow you to swap them out, free of charge. There are cubbies (free) and lockers ($3,$4 and $5 options depending on the length of your stay) to place your things. If you’re going to be a nervous wreck about your belongings, like I was, then I don’t suggest the cubbies – anyone could take your things, and the venue isn’t responsible for lost or stolen items (let me not even get into how I thought someone stole my pocketbook, jacket and sneakers 😭. Luckily Stacia had them…. I literally almost had a stroke) . Moral of the story, purchase the lockers instead if you’re going to have anxiety. Otherwise, you should be fine.

I spent around $83 for admission (two older children – $30 each, a young child – $14 and three pair of socks at $3 a piece). I didn’t pay for myself, but I was still allowed to jump in the attractions with Kenzie when I needed to. Now, you don’t have to pay as much as I did. There are a few different packages to choose from (I opted for the one that included all of the attractions). But feel free to purchase whichever package is best for you.

I thought I was going to ultimately go nuts because of the crowd and numerous birthday parties in session. But to be honest, as busy as I was, the crowd didn’t bother me at all (although I did almost lose Kenzie a few times 😒🤦🏾‍♀️). The girls had a great time running and jumping through all the attractions. They were able to enjoy everything the venue had to offer, including:

  • Climbing Walls
  • Wipeout
  • Climbing Hill
  • Pro Zone Performance Trampolines
  • Tubes – Indoor Playground
  • Battle Beam
  • Warrior Obstacle Course
  • Basic Trampolines

There’s also a Virtual Reality Game you can buy for $7, and a food court. We didn’t purchase any food/ drinks from their dining area, though (because why even waste money on that? Food from these types of places are usually so overpriced to me). I brought plenty of waters with me, and since the girls wanted pizza anyway, we had dad buy us a pie when we got home 😬.

All in all, it was a great day for whole family. I’ll be adding this to my “re-do activity” list for the days we need something quick to get into.

What do you usually do on the weekends with your children? Let’s hear it! I need all the new ideas I can get!
